Pathology is the study (logos) of suffering (pathos). As a science, pathology focuses on the structual and functional consequences of injurious stimuli on cells, tissue, and organs and ultimately the consequences on the entire organism. To me pathology is one of the most facinating and challanging fields in medicine today. With further advances in technology and a better understanding of cellular and mollecular structure in particular genetic aspects we can understand a disease and with that we can cure the disease.
